This program has one cohort a year that begins every Fall semester. 

Fall 2020 Application Deadlines

  • Early Decision: March 1, 2020
  • Regular Decision: May 15, 2020
  • Late Decision applications will be considered based on space available.
  • Applications for Spring and Summer terms will be considered on a case-by-case basis. 

Application Instructions

Applicants must submit all of the items listed below. Applications will be considered upon receipt of all materials.

  • APPLICATION: A completed Application for Graduate Admission with a $50 non-refundable application fee. Credit card, check or money order made payable to Rollins College.
  • TRANSCRIPTS: Official transcripts of your academic work from all colleges or universities that you attended. This also includes Rollins College, if applicable, regardless of whether or not coursework from one institution is listed on another school transcript.
  • ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS: You will be asked a series of questions about your academic honors, community activities, personal reading interests, completed courses, and personal interests. 
  • RECOMMENDATION LETTERS: Two (2) letters of recommendation are required to be submitted via the online application process. Please identify professional and/or academic supporters who know you and can appraise your ability to pursue a graduate degree in this area. Recommendation letters are confidential and will be received electronically via the online application.
  • ESSAY: An essay of three to five (3-5) pages discussing a book that you enjoyed reading, other than the Bible, and explain how that book has influenced your thinking. This essay should be typed and double-spaced submitted via a Word or PDF document through the online application. 
  • STATEMENT OF QUALITY: Briefly describe the qualities, life experiences, and special abilities that you could bring to the Master of Liberal Studies Graduate Program. 

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS ONLY

  • We require all applicants whose first language is not English to adequately demonstrate English competency as part of the application process.  Students may demonstrate competency by submitting scores from TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), IELTS (International English Language Testing System), or DET (Duolingo English Test).  A score of 550 (PBT), 213 (CBT), 80 (IBT) on the (TOEFL), an overall band score of a 6.5 or higher on the (IELTS) to indicate adequate proficiency or 110 or higher on the DET.
  • Students who are not American citizens must demonstrate appropriate permanent resident or visa status.  Only full-time student status qualifies students for an F1 Visa.
  • Any student that submits a foreign college/university transcript is responsible for having these transcripts sent through an evaluation service for translation.   and  may be used for evaluation services.
